I’ve somehow managed to have a bowl full of limes, and I don’t mean 2 or 3 extra limes, I mean I have about 9 limes sitting in a bowl.
So what the heck do I do with these limes? Make something of course! But I need recipes that call for regular limes, not key limes. Here’s a round up of some that I found. Hopefully you’ll be seeing what I decided to make with all my limes sooner or later. (probably sooner, last time I checked, I didn’t pay the premium price for the immortal limes)
Happy Memorial Day! I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday. It’s been a scorching hot weekend with temperatures in the 90s all weekend! Talk about an introduction to summer!
I’m keeping this post short, just wanted to announce the winner of the Create Your Style Magazine. I used random.org to generate a number from the total number of comments. Here’s my results:
The time has come. I couldn’t put it off anymore. I sucked it up and painted the door. Quite a few people eagerly asked me what color I painted it, and I reluctantly had to say, “that same green color.”
Sorry, folks, this isn’t my house, nor was it my paint. But how fun would a bright purple door have been? Oh well, maybe someday when I’m a homeowner…but until then, I painted the door “that same green color.”
Now just hold your horses, there was more work to be done before I absolutely had nothing left to do but paint the door. Really, when I look back on it, painting the door would have been so much easier than doing all this other work, but hey, it looks so much better now!
Since I started this blog it seems to have run the entire gamut of all things craft except for beading. Until now. Swarovski Elements just released a new magazine called Create Your Style which is chock-full of ideas for jazzing up everything from chandeliers to make-up bags to phone chargers with Swarovski Elements beads.
It’s Monday again! How was everyone’s weekend? It was absolutely perfect weather here, so I took the opportunity to finally finish up Operation Front Door! Get ready for the jaw dropping results this up coming week! (ok, maybe not jaw dropping, but still, I made some major progress from where I was a month ago)
Ok, ok, so my obsession with brightly colored planters isn’t quite done yet, but I think this might just be the final post to really get it out of my system. When we stopped by my Grandma’s house to pick her up for the Mother’s Day luncheon she couldn’t wait to take me out to her back patio and show off her latest project. As soon as I saw this array of brightly colored spray painted pots–a day after making this stacked planter and a week after making my hanging garden tins–I thought there’s no denying that I come by all this honestly. Even my 85-year-old Gram needs to add some bright whimsy to her garden!
When I was home this past weekend my mom had this project waiting to be assembled. I had no idea the thought of this project even existed until she said, “Let’s build my planter!” And even though I had no idea what she was talking about, without hesitation I agreed and we went to it.
Columbus has a lot going for it, lots of cool shops and things to do that are unique to the city. Each month I’m going to do/experience something new (to me) that is unique to Columbus and share it with the world here!
Food trucks are all the rage in Columbus nowadays. A couple weeks ago a new “food truck hub” opened up called Dinin’ Hall. My friend, T, from work and I headed over there on our lunch break last week to check it out.
