When I was home this past weekend my mom had this project waiting to be assembled. I had no idea the thought of this project even existed until she said, “Let’s build my planter!” And even though I had no idea what she was talking about, without hesitation I agreed and we went to it.

Columbus is Cool, see stuff

columbus is cool :: Dinin’ Hall

Columbus has a lot going for it, lots of cool shops and things to do that are unique to the city. Each month I’m going to do/experience something new (to me) that is unique to Columbus and share it with the world here!

Food trucks are all the rage in Columbus nowadays. A couple weeks ago a new “food truck hub” opened up called Dinin’ Hall. My friend, T, from work and I headed over there on our lunch break last week to check it out.

operation front door

Operation front door was in full swing this weekend. And I mean full dirt-embedded-nails, sticks-in-hair, wake-up-and-I-can’t-move-the-next-morning swing.

Before you even ask,

I still haven’t painted the door.

But just wait until you see what I did do! My motivation started Thursday night when a neighbor knocked on my door to see if I needed any help weeding the front garden. ha! Talk about a passive aggressive way to say, “Hey, Miss, your yard looks TERRIBLE please do something about it.” I politely declined the offer and spent the rest of the evening pumping myself up for some serious yardwork in the days ahead.

diy: hanging flower tins

I started this project nearly a month ago back when I was working on the anthro-inspired flower pillow. I was waiting until the fear of frost was gone for Central Ohio to finally plant my herbs and was told May 15 is the magic number for frost free nights. I cheated on May 5 after looking at the 10-day weather forecast and there was no frost in sight, so I’m taking the gamble a few days early.
