Most of my projects tend toward the stitched and sewn category, but I have to say that I’ve been itching to venture out into new materials. Specifically concrete. Almost every DIY project I found using the material just looks awesome. My excuse for holding out on experimenting with it so far has been the cold weather because any sort of concrete-based project probably wouldn’t go over so well in the house. But now the weather is warmer and I really have no excuse! It’s time to get making with some concrete!
Here’s some great projects I found for inspiration:
1. A sleek and simple concrete bowl Rebecca from A Daily Something would look awesome indoors or out.
2. I’m tempted to make these coat hooks by Helena from Mormorsglamour. So good!
3. Sibylle from Funkytime made a concrete candle holder. Totally unexpected but a really fun idea.
4. Ugh, these stools are amazing. B actually found this one because he thought it was so great. Ben from Handmade Modern is killing it these days with tons of great concrete and other modern projects.
5. These concrete planters by Megan of Radmegan are, well, pretty rad, and they are made from simple molds like juice containers.
So are you going to make something out of concrete this weekend?? I’m actually out of town, so unfortunately I’m going to have to put off this project for a little while longer. Whatever you are up to this weekend, enjoy it and happy, happy Friday.
It’s that time of year to celebrate mom, grandma, aunt, or whoever else has been a special part of your life. As I get older I realize more and more just how selfless my mom was and still is to always be there when I or my siblings needed her. Taking one day a year to appreciate that is the least I can do. This year I’m sharing the love with all of you to help you tell your mom just how great she is.
Last week while I was in Toledo installing Mason’s letters and taking fanatical pictures of his cheese dip at lunch, my mom had made these adorable little sock bunnies. I thought they were too cute not to share on here! She saw the idea on pinterest and made her way to lil blue boo’s blog that has a fabulously detailed step-by-step.
If you want the detailed diy, go there. If you want the quick and dirty how-to, I’ll provide you with a simple analysis of the sock bunny anatomy:

Happy Monday! and Happy April! I’m definitely looking forward to this month and have a lot of things planned (you’ll hear more about that this week).
I’m starting off the new month with a new video by Ok Go. I’m not usually very interested in music videos except for the ones by this band. Enjoy the video!
Happy Monday! It is absolutely gorgeous outside! I hope you all are enjoying beautiful weather as well!
Today’s song suggestion was brought to you by my good friend, C. Enjoy!
Spring Forward! Spring is here this week. It has been absolutely beautiful and is supposed to continue all week. I generally don’t like the spring forward shift because of the obvious reason of losing an entire hour of the weekend plus having to wake up at what feels like an hour earlier, but I’m going to try and take advantage of the combination of extra daylight in the evening along with the nice weather this week and spend some time outside.
The song has nothing to do with anything I just said. I just like it. Another Fun. song. They sure are fun!
What sorts of things are you looking forward to this spring?
