Last May, during my quest for a shred of curb appeal, I planted four dahlia plants. Yep, four. Since they quickly sprouted and became healthy green plants, I was looking forward to having fresh cut flowers for the summer months.
But no flowers came.
Finally earlier this month I saw a bud on one of the plants. And this week–the last week of October–I get a single dahlia.
So it gets its own blog post. I’m saying farewell to my favorite month of the year with the lone dahlia.
